Arvada Center for the Humanities

Lakewood Cultural Center
Located in the Lakewood City Commons across from the Belmar Shopping Area at Wadsworth and Alameda, the 38,000 square foot Lakewood Cultural Center offers a state-of-the-art 310-seat theater, the Artisan Showcase gift shop featuring Colorado artists, rotating juried exhibits in our gallery spaces, meeting space, art classrooms, and free parking. The Cultural Center presents regional, national and internationally recognized artists, and is host to community performances, presentations, and exhibits featuring work by local performing arts organizations, artists, and schools. The Lakewood Cultural Center is close to shopping, restaurants, the Belmar Library, Belmar Park, and Lakewood's Heritage Center.

This 1867 boarding house is a museum that describes early life in Colorado and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Boettcher Mansion
Built in 1917 as a summer home and seasonal hunting lodge for Charles Boettcher, the 110-acre estate was donated to the county in the 1970s.  In 1975, the Mansion opened to the public as a unique venue for weddings and meetings. On the National Register of Historic Places, the Boettcher Mansion offers self-guided tours from 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday through Friday.

Colorado Railroad Museum
This "can't miss" site for railfans features over 100 historic narrow and standard gauge locomotives and cars exhibited on 15 acres at the foot of North Table Mountain, near Golden, Colorado. The indoor collection highlights Colorado’s rail history and an indoor miniature exhibit. www.crrm.org

Dinosaur Ridge
Track a T-Rex along dinosaur Ridge. This outdoor museum, a National Landmark, preserves dinosaur tracks, fossils, footprints and other evidence of prehistoric life. Bones from some of the largest dinosaurs were discovered here.

Golden Pioneer Museum

Hiwan Homestead Museum
This 17-room log lodge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places because of its unique construction. Hiwan's restored 1890-1930 era rooms illustrate a comfortable style of early mountain summer home living. As a local history museum, it maintains active craft and interpretive school programs as well as changing exhibitions.

Lakewood’s Heritage Center… A 20th Century Museum
A historic and social center park, Lakewood's Heritage Center features a look at 20th Century lifestyles. Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum
The mission of the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum is to enrich the lives of people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures through the celebration of, education about, and preservation of the art and history of American quilts and quiltmaking, past and present.The Museum rotates exhibits in each of two galleries throughout the year. School of Mines Geology Museum

Wheat Ridge Historic Park
This park encompasses five buildings representing early pioneer life. The Sod House is on the National Register of Historic Places, and its furnishings reflect farm life in the late 1800s.  A log cabin is from the  first registered homestead in Colorado and a 1913 post office is a Colorado State Historic Building.
